Prospective Students: ApplyingAny student admitted to UNC Charlotte or currently enrolled at UNC Charlotte may apply to the University Honors Program. Applications are accepted throughout the year according to the following schedule.
The application packet consists of three parts: the application form (accessed below); a personal statement; and a letter of recommendation. The personal statement describes events, projects, and significant experiences already accomplished. These might include academic experience, personal challenges, travel, and community service. It describes goals and expectations the writer has for his/her university career at UNC Charlotte. The letter of recommendation should be from a person who knows your academic abilities and can describe why he/she expects you to be successful in honors courses as well as community service projects. Letters of recommendation should be written on school letterhead and sealed.

Successful Applicant Qualifications Applicants are interested in being actively engaged in community service and maximizing the enrichment and academic opportunities for a purposeful undergraduate career in the Honors Program and at the University. Students admitted for Fall 2008 Profile of students admitted to the University Honors Program for Fall 2009 College and transfer students admitted to UHP in Fall 2009 earned at least a 3.0 GPA in college courses. High School applicants are usually in the top 10% of their graduating class and have an average SAT score of 1780.
